American Resiliency: “The Journey to Democracy”

The events of January 6, 2021 presents an educational and social awareness opportunity for tomorrow’s leaders on so many fronts. History by definition has always been suggested as a “look back”, while making history “is/was a first”, perhaps this is no longer the case. Those images at the US Capitol prompted history to be tangible, in the forefront, and in the here and now.

In Carpe Diem fashion, we have created an Educational on-the-ground DC Experience, designed for Middle School aged students, that embraces this moment in time dubbed American Resiliency: “The Journey to Democracy”.

Considering the Educator’s objectives for their students, thought provoking discussions are led throughout The Journeyby one of our dynamic DC Licensed Guides, exploring such topics as From the Beginning: Freedom’s Cost, Maintaining the Balance; “We hold these truths to be self-evident”, History & Ingenuity: “the sky’s the limit” and others as time permits.

While each DC Experience is customized, Receptive Tours DC typically includes:

  • 56-pax Charter Coach – remains with group per the itinerary (if arriving by air)
  • DC Area Hotel Accommodations including taxes (typically 2 or 3 nights)
  • Breakfast each morning at hotel
  • Dinner beginning on Day 1 at various DC Area restaurants
  • Professionally Licensed DC Tour Guide per itinerary
  • Attraction admission fees per itinerary

Our Management Team works closely with the Trip Planner to ensure that the Student’s Journey to Democracy Experience is meaningful and exceeds expectations. Our resident DC Licensed Tour Manager is a Certified International Tour Manager (CITM) who has extensive frontline guest and logistics experience. He oversees our DC operations helping to ensure that all receive a superior level of on-the-ground-service.

In addition, Receptive Tours is an active member of Destination DC, the DC Guild and the National Concierge Association’s DC Chapter. As such, have the day to day pulse of the District.
